Sacred Frequencies in the Sand: My Soul Journey Through Jordan
Some journeys are meant to be felt more than photographed. Jordan, with its ancient wisdom and elemental beauty, invited me into one of the most vibrationally rich experiences of my life. As a certified hypnotherapist and sound healer, I’m constantly listening—to the body, to the breath, to the frequencies beneath our fast-paced lives. And Jordan? Jordan speaks in frequencies.
Day 1: A Sonic Welcome in Amman
Our journey began in Amman, where I checked into the elegant Ritz-Carlton. That first evening, we were welcomed into the home of the renowned Jordanian composer Talal Abu Al Ragheb. Surrounded by warmth, a spread of traditional pastries and mini-sandwiches, mint tea, and melodic archives, we explored the regional roots of Jordanian music—each area of the country with its own rhythmic identity. It set the tone for what would be a pilgrimage of sound.
Day 2: Petra, Sacred Stones & Desert Mysticism
We set off early, fueled by strong coffee and sweet barazek cookies—anise-scented, sesame-laced bites of joy. Arriving in Petra was like stepping through time. Beneath rose-hued cliffs, I led a sound bath in a hidden canyon. It felt as if the stones themselves had memory. There, I learned about the sacred resins and healing rituals once used in these lands—myrrh, frankincense, oud. Ancient and timeless.
That afternoon, we journeyed into Wadi Rum. The vast silence of the desert has a way of humbling the mind. Off-roading across the copper dunes, we stopped to ground barefoot in the sand. This is where Aladdin, Dune, and Lawrence of Arabia were filmed—and yet it felt far more real than any storybook. I found a piece of polished onyx at a Bedouin camp that now rests on my altar.
As the sun dipped behind the rocks, I offered a sunset sound bath, followed by stargazing under a velvet sky. We slept in a bubble room at Mazayen Rum Camp, held by stillness and stars.
Day 3: Red Sea Joy & Deep Play in Aqaba
At dawn, we rode camels through the silence. I remember the rhythm of their steps, my breath matching theirs.
Then to Aqaba, where the mood shifted into joy. We boarded a boat for snorkeling and sea-dancing on the Red Sea. Yes, I jumped in. Yes, I laughed like a child. Our home that night was the Hyatt Regency Aqaba, a sanctuary infused with Anayata Wellbeing. Every detail—from the yoga class to the energy of the architecture—whispered serenity. Naturally, I ended the day with sound healing. Every corner was an invitation.
Day 4: Sacred Salt & Stillness at the Dead Sea
We traveled to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. En route, we glimpsed a stunning pink lake, as if nature was painting her own mandala. At the Kempinski Ishtar, I marveled at the cascading infinity pools, the expansive spa, the silence that floats between salt and sky.
We covered ourselves in mud, not for vanity but for ceremony. Then slowly, gently, we entered the healing waters. My body felt weightless, as if surrendering to something far greater. The next morning, I received a full-body massage before our journey back. My cells felt reorganized.
Jordan gave me more than a travel memory. It gave me echoes, stillness, rituals. The essence of sound healing is not volume—it’s presence. And every moment in Jordan pulsed with presence.
If you're called to explore your own path through vibration, Jordan is a sacred place to begin. From Petra to Wadi Rum to the shores of the Dead Sea, each landscape holds a unique frequency—ready to support healing, clarity, and deep inner stillness.
We’re currently exploring the idea of hosting a wellness retreat in Jordan—where sacred sound, stillness, and story converge. If that calls to your spirit, stay close. The desert may be calling you next.
